In this month’s update, we’re proud to share our recent achievements, highlight key moments, and keep our clients and community informed about the upcoming November 5th election. From prestigious awards to leadership programs, here’s a look at what’s happening at Webb, Stokes & Sparks.

WS&S Partner, Guy Choate, Honored with TEX-ABOTA Civility Award

Webb, Stokes & Sparks is proud to announce that our partner, Guy Choate, recently received the esteemed TEX-ABOTA Civility Award. This award, presented by the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), honors attorneys who demonstrate respect, civility, and professionalism in their work. Recognition by one’s peers is a mark of excellence, and Guy’s achievement is a testament to his dedication to upholding these values.

Founded in 1958, ABOTA is a national association with over 7,300 experienced trial lawyers and judges. ABOTA’s mission includes:

  • Preserving the right to trial by jury, as guaranteed by the 7th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
  • Promoting the independence of the judiciary.
  • Supporting civics education to encourage informed citizenship.

Leadership San Angelo: Fostering Future Leaders

Jason Sosa, an associate at Webb, Stokes & Sparks, has been selected for the 42nd Class of Leadership San Angelo. This prestigious program, organized by the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce, has been nurturing community leaders since 1982. Leadership San Angelo connects participants with San Angelo’s diverse resources, services, and key organizations, equipping them with the insights they need to shape the city’s future.

Through this program, Jason joins the ranks of firm partner Carlos Rodriguez, an LSA graduate, in our firm’s ongoing commitment to community and leadership development. At Webb, Stokes & Sparks, we’re not only dedicated to serving clients’ legal needs but also to shaping the leaders who will steer San Angelo forward.

Representing WS&S at the Texas Trial Advocacy College

Our associate Grant Emmons recently attended the Trial Advocacy College of Texas (TACT), hosted by the Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA). This intensive, three-day program at the Irving Convention Center provided valuable hands-on training from some of the state’s top trial attorneys. By participating in TACT, Grant had the chance to refine his trial skills, gain real-world experience, and connect with fellow legal professionals across Texas.

“I was grateful to attend TACT 2024. The techniques and skills I have learned have been instrumental to my growth as a trial lawyer. Additionally, I was able to meet other members of TTLA and develop relationships with other attorneys across the State of Texas,” says Grant Emmons.
